Professional Counseling
Originally from New Mexico, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lubbock Christian University and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Tennessee and a certified Life Coach.
Entering my third decade as a therapist, I bring professionalism, experience, and authenticity to the therapy process. My office is a judgment-free space where I meet clients where they are in their journey. As an integrative therapist, I draw from multiple approaches and perspectives, allowing me to tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs. Together, we explore how past relationships, wounds, and traumas may be affecting the present. Gaining insight, attending to unresolved experiences, and learning practical tools for coping individually and in relationships can lead to meaningful and lasting change. I use evidence-based therapies proven to help with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. In working with trauma, I am a certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist and also trained in Brainspotting. My goal is to walk alongside clients as they move toward healthier patterns, stronger relationships, and a more fulfilling life.

On a personal note, I have two grown children and enjoy running, hiking, kayaking, woodworking, and spending time outdoors. You may also notice Buddy, our mini schnauzer, who joined the practice in 2022. He brings comfort, warmth, and unconditional love, and is working toward becoming a therapy dog.

Life Coaching

I am a certified Life Coach who offers this service to individuals wanting to reach new levels of growth, clarity, and success in their life, relationships, or career. This service differs from counseling in that it is more present and future oriented. Life coaching empowers clients to define their vision, set effective goals, and create a plan of action to achieve extraordinary results. As your coach, I will be an ally, someone who will give you honest, nonjudgmental feedback and encouragement. I will help you track your progress and make adjustments to best reach your goals.

Animal Assisted Therapy

As of April 2022, I have been working with a miniature schnauzer in my office training him as a therapy dog. “Buddy” Is a very sweet and calm boy who absolutely loves people. If you want him to, he will gladly climb up in your lap, or if not, he will lay down beside me on his bed. In the growing field of animal assisted therapy, research and experience has proven this simple act of petting a dog or having a dog in one's lap brings about a calming effect which can have a positive effect on many mental health conditions. If you would prefer not to have a dog in your session let me know before our first appointment and I can make arrangements.
